There are those that wish to subvert Health Care Reform because they didn't initiate it, they don't want to be on the bandwagon... unless they lead it.

There are those that wish to subvert Health Care Reform because their wealthy constituents and contributors don't need it, now... as much as the masses.

Here is an analogy:

There is a major disaster and you are unscathed. You have food, clothing, shelter, and money. But your neighbors didn't fare so well. What are you going to do? Help distribute the aid, maybe share a little of what you have... or are you going to turn your back on them and tell them they should have been smarter, like you.

Yet those same Government Representatives, (and their constituents), that won't vote for Health Care Reform, I'm sure, advocated relief for Haiti... (although I'm not sure they themselves contributed out of their own pockets).

What's up with that kind of hypocrisy?

The Health Care Reform Act is major legislation, just like the Social Security Act and Medicare, and will need modifications, just like they did, after the bills were passed.

Don't be fooled by those that wish to subvert Health Care Reform for their own selfish reasons... uncommon, common sense requires the performance of unselfish acts of humanitarianism, remember?

A NEWS ANCHOR stated today that we, the citizen of the US, need to increase our SPENDING in order to allow our economy to recover.

What ever happened to SAVING?

For the last 50 years, we have imported goods and services with lower labor costs and subsequently lower manufacturings costs than we could produce the same goods domestically.

We have imported those goods and services long enough to force our domestic manufacturers and suppliers out of business or to offshore manufacturing until we have very few domestic jobs left.

We have neglected enforcement of our immigration laws, employing illegal aliens until we have very few domestic jobs left.

We have provided education, social services and health care services for anyone working in the US regardless of their immigration status.

Now + 10% of us are out of work, collecting unemployment insurance, no health care, facing foreclosure, and homelessness... and we are being told to SPEND MORE MONEY?

"What's up with that?"

60 years ago, the message was SAVE MONEY for the future: emergencies; education / training; sickness; unemployment; and retirement.

Then came "CREDIT" and the BANK CREDIT CARD...

We need to go back to a "pay as you go" government and citizen and economy.

#1. TAX goods / services, manufactured / performed, outside the US, SUFFICIENTLY, in order to encourage those manufacturers / service providers to manufacture goods or provide services domestically within the US.

#2. ENFORCE Immigration, Visa, and Work Permit Laws, expelling all Illegal Immigrants, and shutting down all services for same (i.e. Dept. of Motor Vehicles License and Registration; Private, Public, and Non Profit Health Care Clinics and Services; Public and Private School Education; Business Licensing).

The CORE PROBLEM, and this is not bashing, is the way we allow U.S. and MULTI NATIONAL CORPORATIONS to operate.

Basically, they avoid Taxes, Tariffs, and the Laws of the U.S. (regarding unfair competition) by creating Subsidiaries, Corporations, Companies, and Operating Units, designed to maximize their profits through the use of the cheapest foreign labor to manufacture products that are then imported to the U.S. at costs that Domestic Manufactures cannot compete with because of the higher living standard and subsequent cost of Domestic Labor.

That fact has forced more and more U.S. Manufacturers to not only import from a third party importer, or directly from a foreign manufacturer, but to manufacture from their own plants now located on foreign soil.

Lower U.S. retail prices meant the U.S. worker didn't need as much money to purchase products and therefore they could have more...or they could be paid less and have the same.

This logic, THE GLOBAL ECONOMY, is defined as...Those who have a higher standard of living must sacrifice, and have less, so that those that have a lower standard of living may may prosper, and have more.

SO...the Multi National Corporations got richer, and the Foreign Governments got richer, and the Foreign Worker got richer...and the U.S. Government, and it's People got poorer.

A cash deposit was made, in branch, to my checking account on Saturday, August 1st, and I was assured that the cash was immediately available for withdrawal.

BUT the funds were not available until after 11:00am on Monday, August 3rd.
So, a debit item posted and funds were advanced from my overdraft protection account along with bank fees.

TO MAKE MATTERS WORSE, when I tried to debit my account for a Orchid Lei from Hawaii for my daughters birthday, the purchase was declined because the cash deposit had still not been posted.

OF COURSE I WENT INTO MY BANK, AND CALLED CUSTOMER SERVICE.

THEIR ANSWERS:
It has to be a cash deposit... IT WAS!
It has to be made in branch... IT WAS!
The Teller was new... THIS IS THE SECOND TIME? DIFFERENT TELLERS, DIFFERENT BRANCHES.
WELLS FARGO DOES NOT POST CASH DEPOSITS MADE IN BRANCH ON WEEKENDS UNTIL THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY (MONDAY).

That's news to me, coming from a customer service supervisor.

She said that has been their policy for the 13 years she has worked for Wells Fargo.

So I asked her if she and Wells Fargo would notify their employees and their customers.

AND SHE DID NOT ANSWER ME.

AND... I ASKED TO FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT, AND TO RECEIVE A COPY OF THE COMPLAINT, WHICH SHE REFUSED.

SO I ASKED FOR THE ADDRESS AND TELEPHONE NUMBER OF THE GOVERNMENT REGULATORY AGENCY WHERE I COULD FILE A COMPLAINT, AND SHE TOLD ME TO CALL THE BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU.

Then she transferred me to another department about another banking problem...
AND I WAS DISCONNECTED!

Every SCHOOL should be monitoring their students as soon as they arrive at school.

Every TEACHER should refer any student that has chills / is sweating / coughing / sneezing to the nurses office.

Every NURSE should send any referred student home that has a temperature of 100 degrees or more, with a referral to a health clinic..

Every PARENT should be notified if ANY STUDENT was sent home from their child's school, ON THE SAME DAY THAT THE ACTION TO PLACE.

WAITING FOR FLU CONFIRMATION BEFORE THE PARENTS ARE NOTIFIED WILL BE TOO LATE!

IT SHOULD BE THE RIGHT OF THE PARENT TO DECIDE IF THEY WANT THEIR CHILDREN TO GO TO SCHOOL DURING THIS TIME.

IT IS NOT THE SCHOOLS DECISION.

I support the president's plan to make higher education more affordable for more students, BUT AT THE SAME TIME, we need to ready our kids for higher education.

SECOND:
A laptop computer, Mac or PC, should be provided for every student in our public education system K - 12, just as we provide text books at no charge to the same students.

As a matter of fact, the students would have no use for most of those text books, and that would help pay for their laptops.

This should be a program paid for, half by the federal government and half by the state government.

The poorest schools should receive the laptops first.

This program would encourage people to reconsider public education rather than fleeing to private schools.

This use of computers will prepare the student for their higher education as well as the hi tech computerized work force.

THIRD:
(Recognizing that not every parent is capable or has the time to teach their kids)

Every elementary school should offer on campus homework tutoring, and some middle school classes, after the regular days schedule.

Every middle school should offer on campus homework tutoring, and some high school classes, after the regular days schedule.

Every high school should offer on campus homework tutoring, and some lower division college prerequisite classes, after the regular days schedule.

FORTH:
Every elementary school, middle school, and high school, should offer a summer school program.

FIFTH:

HERE'S THE WELLS FARGO SCAM

This is how they pull it off!

They hold your cash deposit and wait for withdrawals against the account. Then, they make the withdrawals before they credit your deposit. Then, they charge you the Overdraft Protection Fees before they credit your deposit.

In this instance, because the latest dated check was April 01, 2009, they told the customer they had received it on April 01, 2009 when they in fact had insufficient funds in their account.

BUT, the Business that deposited the check(s), because it had been received so late in the evening on April 01, 2009, did not deposit it until midday on the April 02, 2009, when in fact the account HAD sufficient funds.

When Wells Fargo was asked for the date and TIME STAMP to prove when they had actually received the checks, they refused to produce them.

And therein lies the problem. THE TIME STAMP should be mandatory and should appear on all checks in order to show when a payment demand is made. Otherwise, an unscrupulous bank will delay cash deposits and post demands against an account based upon the date that appears on the check, rather than when the demand was actually made, in order to create insufficient fund scenarios and charge Overdraft Protection Fees. A la WELLS FARGO BANK.

Over the last couple of weeks I've listened to congressmen, and senators "grand stand". Showing emotions (fake or real), while they touted their private or public agendas.

And what struck me was that they sounded uneducated, and insincere. Furthermore, they were hateful.

That is SCARY!

In a modern nation, in today's' world, we need educated leaders. People with a sufficiently high I.Q. / native intelligence that are able to reason, think accurately and fast, for the common good, who possess uncommon common sense..

The day of the orator that sounds good but makes no sense should be behind us. The snake oil salesman that mimics our hopes and feeds on our fears... the down home politician... needs to be replaced by a representative that understands finance, ethics, justice, rather than another lawyer that understands none of those things.

I don't care what party they belong to, but please don't reelect these fools!

0. OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO PLACE AN INJUNCTION / MORATORIUM ON FORECLOSURES AND EVICTIONS IMMEDIATELY and then needs to provide the following to those people that have lost their jobs / place of residence.

1. Our Government needs to hire and pay people to work.
They can create new jobs, however this will take time, therefore they need to hire and pay people to work IN THE PRIVATE SECTOR until such time as the government jobs are ready to be filled.

2. Our government needs to provide sliding scale no cost - low cost health care at this time.

3. Our Government needs to provide subsidized basic utilities such as water, gas, electricity, telephone, television service, and transportation.

These steps will stimulate the economy. People will be able to pay for their basic necessities. Businesses will have customers. And those that needed help will receive it.

WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF YOU THAT STILL HAVE YOUR JOB? Your good fortune will continue because the less fortunate received these benefits...OTHERWISE, YOU MIGHT BE NEXT...

THE "DEPRESSION" WORD

I CAN NOT TRUST ANYONE THAT REFUSES TO PUBLICLY ADMIT THAT WE ARE IN AN ECONOMIC "DEPRESSION".

Is there an index or a number that I haven't heard of that defines the moment it is correct to call this a depression? If not, WHY NOT?

Are we so stupid to believe this is a recession just because no one has told us it's a depression?

If anyone wants me to consider their point of view, I need them to address this question of semantics.

Are we in a recession, or are we in a depression, what is the defining difference, EXPLAIN IT TO ME PLEASE, MR. PRESIDENT.

HYDROGEN and THE POLITICAL PYRAMID SCHEME

Many years ago I submitted a plan to the DOD/DOE suggesting that we reduce our dependence on foreign oil by building hydrogen fueled vehicles and converting existing internal combustion engines to run on hydrogen.

While this concept wasn't new, the rest of the concept was revolutionary...and that was the problem.

The problem was, and still is today, no one was/is in a position to monopolize the production of hydrogen.

Let me back up for a second. The reason/logic/excuse why we were not yet using Hydrogen was that first an enormously expensive massive infrastructure had to be built in order to produce and then distribute the hydrogen to hydrogen pumping stations where you could fuel your vehicles.

Now that sounded plausible, but it delayed the realization of a hydrogen fueled economy for 30 years.

Except I had the solution that would make it possible to have a hydrogen economy today.

So I told the DOD/DOE, or maybe I should say I reminded them, that the technology exists today, and was in fact already in use for mobile units in remote areas, to manufacture small scale solar/electrical powered HOME hydrogen generating units, storage tanks, and fueling systems capable of fueling up to four vehicles. (Remember the Natural Gas/Propane Tanks that you've seen in all rural areas?)

And of course, as I said before, all internal combustion engines can be converted to hydrogen while we wait for our automobile industry to design something expensive and unaffordable.

So the DOD/DOE classified my documents and that was that.

But I wasn't through!

So I took the opportunity to email my plan to OBAMA, MCCAIN, and PICKENS. But the responses were always automated. No one cared. Every one was just building their MULTI LEVEL MARKETING PYRAMID. Asking me to join their team and make a donation to The PRESIDENTIAL POLITICS PONZI SCHEME.

TODAY, my daughter told me that Chevy was promoting their Hydrogen Vehicle.

(So it takes plummeting us into THE GREAT DEPRESSION in order for a tiny bit of the GREED to be revealed/curtailed.)

But we still don't have a hydrogen economy because the power people haven't set up their infrastructure to control it.

BEWARE. The plan now will be for Governments at all levels to legislate away your right to economically produce, store, pump, use/sell hydrogen from your home.

They won't be happy with just collecting direct road taxes based on odometer readings.

Oh, and I have the solution for financing this so that everyone can afford it...but for now I just want to get this much of my post out...so I will be back later for the economics of my solutions.

• Increase the emphasis on primary care and prevention.
As we work to revamp our health care system, we need to hear from you. There is no problem that we cannot
solve together—and it is out of our collective wisdom and experience that we will identify potential solutions to
the many health care challenges that we face. We need to hear your ideas and your stories so that we can report
them to the President-elect. What follows is brief background information to help you start a discussion and a
set of key questions. Your answers to them will guide our collective effort to reform the U.S. health system.
I. OVERVIEW OF THE PROBLEM
The potential of health care in America is enormous and ever expanding. Diseases that once were lifethreatening
are now curable; conditions that once were devastating are now treatable. We have the knowledge
to extend and improve lives.
But, as the stories of those who participated in the recent on-line discussion at www.change.gov testify, our
system is flawed and fails to deliver affordable, high-quality health care to all Americans. Our system faces
three interrelated problems.
First, health care costs are skyrocketing, hurting our families as well as our economy:
• Health insurance premiums have doubled in the past 8 years, accompanied by increasing co-pays and
deductibles that threaten access to care.1
• Large medical bills have contributed to half of bankruptcies and foreclosures.2
• Rising health care costs place a burden on American businesses, as they try to balance health benefit costs
with job growth and competitiveness. American manufacturers are paying more than twice as much on
health benefits as most of their foreign competitors (measured in cost per hour).3
• Problems with health care quality and administrative “waste” contribute to these costs:
o Medical errors result in as many as 100,000 deaths per year in U.S. hospitals.4
o On average, American adults received just 55 percent of recommended care for the leading causes of
death and disability.5
• The U.S. spent $412 per capita on health care administration and insurance in 2003—nearly 6 times as much
as other developed countries.6

Second, over forty-five million Americans have no health insurance:
• Nearly 160 million Americans have job-based insurance, but many are just a pink slip away from joining the
ranks of the uninsured. For every 1 percentage point increase in the unemployment rate, over one million
people become uninsured.7
• Being uninsured leads to delayed care—late diagnoses for cancer when it is harder and more expensive to
treat, and preventable complications due to untreated diabetes. It also leads to denied care— a child without
health insurance is less likely to receive medical attention for recurrent ear infections or for asthma.
Uninsured trauma victims are less likely to be admitted to the hospital and are 37 percent more likely to die
of injuries.8
• Even people with coverage are increasingly finding that it is insufficient or simply not there when needed.
Nearly one in five Americans either delay care or have unmet needs despite having health insurance.9
Third, our nation’s investment in prevention and public health is inadequate, leading to rapid spread of
chronic diseases, many of which could be prevented entirely or managed:
• One in 3 Americans—or 133 million—have a chronic condition,10 and 5 chronic diseases—heart disease,
cancer, stroke, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and diabetes—cause over two-thirds of all deaths.11
• Approximately 1 in 3 children born today will develop diabetes in their lifetime.12
• Only four cents out of every health care dollar is spent on prevention and public health.13
II. THE PRESIDENT-ELECT’S HEALTH CARE PLAN
President-elect Obama presented a framework for health reform to achieve three goals:
Modernize the Health Care System to Improve Quality and Reduce Costs:
• Invest in a national health information technology system that will allow us to coordinate care, measure
quality, reduce medical errors, and save billions of dollars;
• Reward health providers that provide high quality care and coordinated care;
• Expand disease management programs and self-management training to help patients;
• Lower drug costs by increasing the use of generic drugs in public programs, and taking on drug companies
that block cheaper generic medicines from the market;
• Require hospitals and providers to collect and report health care cost and quality data.
Expand Coverage to All Americans:
• Build upon and strengthen employer coverage;
• Allow people to keep the coverage that they have and maintain patients’ choice of doctor;
• Establish a National Health Insurance Exchange that offers a range of private insurance options as well as a
new public plan option;
• Require insurance companies to cover pre-existing conditions so all Americans regardless of their health
status or history can get comprehensive benefits at fair and stable premiums;
• Expand Medicaid and SCHIP and provide sliding-scale premium assistance for low-income people.
Improve Prevention and Public Health:
• Require coverage of clinical preventive services such as tobacco cessation services and cancer screenings, in
public programs and private health plans;
• Invest in community-based prevention that will lead to healthier schools, worksites, and communities;
• Tackle the health and public health workforce shortage and bolster the public health infrastructure.

insurance-exchange or a public plan like Medicare?

be in a reformed health care system?
6. Below are examples of the types of preventive services Americans should receive. Have you gotten the
prevention you should have? If not, how can public policy help?
7. How can public policy promote healthier lifestyles?
EXAMPLES OF RECOMMENDED PREVENTIVE SCREENINGS
Screening Mammography:
• All of the major professional societies that make recommendations about breast cancer
screening recommend that women by age 50 and older get a routine annual screening
mammography for breast cancer. Many of these societies recommend that women
should undergo such screening at age 40.14
• Yet, only 71.8 percent of women age 50-64 and 63.8 percent of women 65 or older
received a screening mammogram in 2005.15
Flu Shots:
• The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that all adults over the
age of 50 receive an annual vaccine against influenza.16
• Yet, in 2006, only 45.9 percent of adults over the age of 50 received a flu shot.17
Cholesterol Screening:
• The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recommends that doctors routinely screen
men ages 35 years and older and women ages 45 years and older for high cholesterol.18
• Yet, according to data from 2007, only 74.9 percent of adults in the U.S. had their
cholesterol checked within the past five years.19
